About RecyclingCentres.ca

RecyclingCentres.ca is an open, independently maintained directory of recycling centres, depots, scrap yards, and drop-off locations across Canada. Our goal is to make it easier for Canadians to find accurate, up-to-date information about where to recycle common materials.

We aggregate public data from municipal waste programmes, provincial stewardship organizations, and registered recyclers. The dataset covers every province and territory, including paper, plastic, glass, metal, electronics, batteries, paint, oil, tires, organics, textiles, appliances and household hazardous waste.

Why this directory exists

Recycling rules in Canada vary by city, province and material. Municipal websites are often fragmented, and stewardship programme locators cover only the materials they manage. We built a single, structured resource that brings these sources together so residents, businesses and recyclers can find answers quickly.

Data sources and accuracy

Location data comes from a mix of municipal open data, Google Places, stewardship programme directories and direct submissions from facility operators. Every listing includes a source link where available, and we flag last-verified dates so users know when the information was last checked.
